Cincinnati German Breakfast Side
Goetta is a breakfast side dish that compliments any breakfast food. It is one of the most unique recipes that I have made. The vast majority, 99%, of all goetta is consumed in the greater Cincinnati area and is rarely known outside the city. It is a combination of steel cut oats, pork and beef that is cooked for hours. Once cooked, it is formed into a patty that is eventually fried and served with any breakfast meal. This recipe has been passed down through at least 3 generations.
